Tweed girls are an example of couture-level craftsmanship and attention to detail found on Marc Jacobs runway accessories.
Paillettes are embroidered first onto a chiffon that can be worked with this type of tightly packed embroidery. They are embroidered in three different layers, this is done to recreate the three dimensional pattern of the tweed. The paillette covered chiffon is then sewn onto the nappa leather panels.
Each bag contains over 300,000 micro-paillettes and each clutch us comprised of 200,000 paillettes. It takes up to 72 hours to complete each bag. All bags are lined in supple nappa leather for a luxurious feeling inside and out.
